When Cloisonne pins are to be made, it is necessary to clean off the metal body to which the cloisonne can be hand applied. After this has been done, the Cloisonne can be hand painted to the body surface and then hard-fired several separate times. Next, each piece is hand ground and polished.

Many tedious hand processes are accomplished, and the end result is exquisitely beautiful and durable. To take radically different materials-Cloisonne and a metal body and unite them into a new whole; this ability is the best proof of great talent.
